Cooking class software for rosters and technique records

Start with 25 active students and 1 instructor seat on the free Starter plan. No credit card required.

Organize weekly cooking classes, student rosters, attendance, and the techniques instructors assess. Build a custom checklist around your own teaching program and review registration requests before enrollment.

Use the same workspace for manual invoices and invited family access to linked student records.

Before you choose: There is no allergen or dietary-safety workflow, stock inventory, dated kitchen-station booking, term booking, gift certificate checkout, or student card payment.

Bring your routine records together

Keep the information staff use during a teaching week in one school workspace.

Student profiles and contact details alongside their current curriculum
Weekly class rosters with an assigned instructor and a capacity limit
Recorded skill progress and attendance for each student
Invoice balances and transaction history visible to verified linked families

Workflows available in your school workspace

Technique checklists you define

Create levels and skills for techniques your instructors teach, such as knife handling, dough preparation, or a cooking method. Record assessed mastery rather than relying on a preloaded culinary syllabus.

Class rosters with capacity

Set a weekly schedule, instructor, and maximum student count. Staff can reserve named workstations or equipment exclusively for the class. Roster capacity does not allocate a station to each student or manage ingredient stock.

Exclusive weekly resource reservations

Owners add named rooms, vehicles, or equipment. Staff reserve them for recurring weekly classes; overlapping reservations are rejected. Pausing a class releases its time. This does not provide dated appointments, maintenance blocks, or suitability checks.

Registration requests and approved waitlists

Enable public registration for selected classes and add intake questions for all or selected classes, with conditional follow-ups based on an earlier choice or yes/no answer. Families submit answers with a request; staff review the saved answers and approve enrollment or a waitlist place. Approved waitlists promote in order when eligible places open, with email updates for recorded changes.

Verified family access

Invite parents or guardians to a read-only portal for their linked students. They can see recorded skills, recent attendance, the latest published progress report, and family invoices. Unrelated students remain private.

Manual invoices and printable records

Owners issue invoices and record money received or refunded outside the app. Credits reduce charges with a reference and reason. Owners and linked families can print invoices and credit notes or save them as PDFs through the browser.

Certificate dates and status filters

Record student and instructor certificates, issuers, and expiry dates. Review current and expiring records in the dashboard. Staff remain responsible for checking requirements and arranging renewals.

AI drafts and suggestions for staff to review

Progress report drafts - Pro and Business

Staff request a draft from recorded student skills and attendance, review and edit its text, then publish it to linked families. Drafts stay private, later edits require republication, and staff can withdraw a shared report while retaining its publication history.

Readiness suggestions - Business

Request an assessment based on recorded progress. Instructors decide the next teaching step. An AI suggestion does not award a qualification or certify that a student is ready for an external exam.

Schedule suggestions - Business

Request suggestions from the school's recorded classes, instructors, and rooms. Staff review the output and make schedule changes themselves.

Retention review - Business

Request a review of student progress and attendance patterns to help plan staff follow-up. The app does not automatically contact students or guarantee a retention outcome.

How it works

01

Create your school

Sign up on Starter, choose your teaching category, and set the school's timezone.

02

Add or import students

Enter profiles individually or preview a CSV roster import. Imports check duplicates and plan limits before adding records.

03

Define your curriculum and classes

Create your own levels and skills, assign a current curriculum to each student, and set weekly class rosters and capacities.

04

Record the teaching week

Update skills and attendance, review registration requests, and invite families to see their linked records.

Frequently asked questions

Can students book and pay for a cooking class online?

They can submit a request for a class that accepts public registration. Staff approve enrollment or a waitlist place. The form does not take payment, offer a shopping cart, or confirm an individual dated event booking.

Does it check allergies or food-safety compliance?

No. There is no structured allergen record, recipe check, consent form, or safety validation. General student notes and certificate dates do not provide those operational controls.

What is included in the free plan?

Starter supports 25 active students and 1 instructor seat. It includes core records, custom curricula, weekly classes, attendance, family access, and manual invoices. Pro costs $49/month for 200 active students and 5 instructor seats, with AI report drafts. Business costs $99/month with no student or instructor-seat cap and the additional AI features described here. Paid plan prices are in USD.

Can I import my existing records?

Owners can preview and import a CSV student roster, including names, email, date of birth, category, level, status, and notes. Existing matches are skipped rather than overwritten. Importing attendance history, payment history, curricula, class assignments, or external system accounts is not supported.

Can students pay online or be billed automatically?

Student payments are handled outside ProgresslyAI. Owners issue invoices and record payments, refunds, and charge credits manually. There is no student card checkout, automatic recurring tuition collection, lesson-pack balance, or automated payment reminder. The school's own paid software subscription is separate from student billing.

Who can use the family portal?

An invited parent or guardian verifies their email and joins the school. They can read only the students linked to that account and those students' invoices. There is no separate student-role login or public access to these private records.

Start with the records your staff use each week: students, skills, classes, attendance, and manual invoices. Create a free Starter school and check those workflows with a small roster before moving your operation.
